The Rossoneri have long been reported since the summer as having reached a pre-contract agreement to pick up the young Spaniard either in January or at the end of his Anfield contract in June.
However, his agent has reflected that staying with his Premier League employers remains a preferred option.
“Suso is a Liverpool player and his starting idea is to continue with Liverpool,” Jaime Serra has told MilanNews.it today.
“If there's an interested team they have to get in touch with the Reds and find an agreement with them.
“We don't reject any possibility and it would be a pleasure to play with Milan, but first an agreement has to be found with Liverpool because his main choice is to stay where he is.”
When questioned as to whether Milan had made any offers, Serra replied: “I don't know, certainly not with me. You'd have to ask the board of directors at Liverpool.
“Milan asked me what the player's situation was and I explained his qualities.
“But Suso has a contract until 2015 and in January he can sign with whomever he likes.
“For Milan, Roma, Liverpool or any team he wants, from the 1st of January.”
