Suso’s agent reveals he has offers from Italy, Spain and England, but “wanted to stay at Milan to work with Vincenzo Montella.”

The Spaniard spent the last six months of the 2015-16 campaign on loan at Genoa and returned to San Siro this summer.

“My son is very happy with the way his season has begun,” Jesus Fernandez told Calciomercato.com.

“There’s a long way to go and he knows that he needs to improve further. He has always been able to send his teammates clear on goal, though I hope he can score more himself too.

“Since the first spell at Milan, he has certainly increased his self-confidence. The experience at Genoa was important for his development, as he needed more regular playing time in Serie A.

“Now Montella has put faith in him. We knew Montella played a similar style of football to the one in Spain, so that can get the best out of Suso’s characteristics. The arrival of the new Coach was decisive for him.

Atalanta, Genoa and Sassuolo asked to sign him, but more than Milan it was the player himself who turned down these possibilities, as he was convinced he could have his say at Milan. He knew the new Coach appreciated him and stayed to work with Montella.

“There are Spanish and English clubs who are ready to meet Milan’s asking price, but I am convinced my son will remain. He wants to take the club back to the level where it belongs.”
