After being linked with a move to Roma, their opponents in the last 16 of the Europa League, the 26-year-old has claimed he decided to move back home to remain there.
“I came to stay,” he told Marca. “For these things, there’s always time to discuss and talk in the summer.
“Now, the most important thing is to achieve our target, which is to qualify for the Champions League and to do well in the Europa League.”
Sevilla are currently third in La Liga and host Roma at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Thursday. The game will be carried out behind closed doors and the former Milan star admitted that he has been in touch with his former teammates regarding the subject.
“I was talking about it with several of my former teammates at Milan,” Suso said. “It’s an unfamiliar and somewhat difficult situation.
“There are people who know more than us and have to decide.”
