Milan full-back Alessandro Florenzi requires surgery on a meniscal problem and could miss the match against former club Roma in Serie A.

Sky Sport Italia reports the defender, who joined the Diavolo this summer, has to undergo surgery on meniscal problem.

The player had already been ruled out of the upcoming game against Atalanta this weekend and will not be in the Italy squad for the UEFA Nations League game against Spain on October 6.

The broadcaster, however, revealed Florenzi will be operated on Friday and undergo a knee arthroscopy for a meniscal problem.

The recovery time is expected to be a month, according to PagineRomaniste, who fear the full-back’s presence against Roma on October 31 is at risk.

The 30-year-old has appeared seven times since joining the Rossoneri on loan with an option to buy. Florenzi spent last term on loan at Paris Saint-Germain and six months Valencia in the second half of 2019-20.

  1. Hopefully this fixes the issue for him as when he was on the pitch for us this season, he did look slow with a lack of quickness which would be understandable considering his injury.
