Lega Serie A has confirmed dates and kick-off times for the Supercoppa semi-finals and Final, revealing games will go straight to a penalty shoot-out if teams cannot be separated after 90 minutes.
All Supercoppa games will be played at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh in January 2024 and for the first time in history, the competition will involve four clubs. Coppa Italia and Serie A winners will be joined by runners-up of both competitions.
Lega Serie A confirmed with an official statement on Friday that the first semi-final will be between Serie A winners Napoli and Coppa Italia runners-up Fiorentina on January 18, 2024, at 22:00 local time, 20:00 in Italy, 19:00 GMT.
It’s the same kick-off time as Inter-Lazio on January 19, 2024. There will be no third-place play-off so the losing teams will return straight to Italy.
The Final will be played on January 22, 2024, at the same time, 19:00 GMT.
The game will go to a penalty shoot-out in case of a draw after 90 minutes.
How do suspensions work?
If players or coaches receive a red card in the league game prior to the Supercoppa, the ban will be served in the following league match and won’t count in the Supercoppa. The same applies to suspensions following five yellow cards in Serie A.
However, if a player or coach on a yellow card is booked during a Supercoppa semi-final or Final, he will serve a one-match ban in the following Serie A game. If a player is sent off during a semi-final, he will miss the Supercoppa Final and could miss more Serie A matches if the ban is longer than a game.
