Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms he’s unsure about playing the Supercoppa in Saudi Arabia, claiming that Arab countries don’t respect women and work and saying it is ‘stupid’ to make 120 players fly over Israel.

The Partenopei President confirmed on Tuesday that he’s not a fan of the Italian Supercoppa played in Saudi Arabia. Il Corriere dello Sport has reported Napoli are ready to withdraw from the competition which will likely be played at the end of January 2024 with a new format.

“Arab countries must regularize themselves with respect for women and work. Sports should unite wellness and health, if this does not happen I have to be worried,” De Laurentiis said on Tuesday during a meeting at the University of Rome, as quoted by La Repubblica.

“Have you seen what is happening in Israel? Can you imagine an air blockade on those territories? Did you guys realize that with four planes we will carry 120 players who are worth what they’re worth?” he continued.

“You are stupid! You do all this just to earn a few million more. Let’s do it at the Olimpico, why do we have to go and be bothered there? I’m not boycotting, I am just saying ‘Think about it.’
