Supercoppa and Serie A bans confirmed

Matthijs de Ligt and Juan Cuadrado are suspended for Juventus in the Supercoppa against Inter, while Sandro Tonali and Bryan Cristante are among those banned in Serie A.

Because the Supercoppa Italiana is only once a year, it is not considered a separate tournament in the same way as the Coppa Italia.

Therefore, a ban in Serie A passes on to the Supercoppa, which means De Ligt and Cuadrado are suspended for Wednesday’s showdown at San Siro between Coppa Italia holders Juventus and Scudetto winners Inter.

The other one-match bans apply to Serie A, so Milan midfielder Tonali, Sassuolo captain Berardi and Roma man Cristante will sit out this weekend’s fixtures.

Other players suspended for this week are Ivan Ilic (Verona), Michael Svoboda (Venezia), Julian Chabot (Sampdoria), Norbert Gyomber (Salernitana), Roger Ibanez (Roma), Rodrigo Becao (Udinese) and Johan Vasquez (Genoa).

Hellas Verona were fined €10,000 after their fans aimed territorial discrimination chants at Salernitana supporters, while Genoa were fined €3,000 for the throwing of objects onto the pitch during their defeat to Spezia.
