Football agent Mino Raiola, whose clients include Gianluigi Donnarumma, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba, is reportedly in hospital in Milan after undergoing emergency surgery.

The representative, born in Italy and raised in the Netherlands, has among his clients the likes of Ibrahimovic, Matthijs de Ligt, Erling Braut Haaland and Pogba.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport online edition, Raiola was rushed to the San Raffaele hospital in Milan and underwent emergency surgery this morning.

The 54-year-old remains under observation.

It is not yet known what the surgery was for or his current condition.

Raiola is a legend among football agents and a controversial figure too in the modern transfer market, known for his ability to get the world’s biggest clubs into bidding wars and moving his clients on regularly, making huge profits in commissions and fees in the process.

In 2020, Forbes claimed Raiola was worth $84.7m and the recent FIFA report into transfer fees urged a clampdown on commissions earned by the likes of Raiola.
