Spanish newspaper Sport claim Luis Suarez has not yet decided whether to join Juventus, while he sends a message from Barcelona.

Most media sources in Italy and Spain over the last few days are confident ‘El Pistolero’ is heading to Turin once he has managed to free himself from the Blaugrana.

It’s likely to be a nominal fee, anything from €1.5m to €3m plus bonuses, as new coach Ronald Koeman has already told Suarez he’s not part of his plans.

It’s likely to be a nominal fee, anything from €1.5m to €3m plus bonuses, as new coach Ronald Koeman has already told Suarez he’s not part of his plans.

However, this afternoon some doubts have begun to emerge from various places.

Sport claim that negotiations are at a stand-still for the moment, as it’s the final big transfer of the 33-year-old’s career and he wants to ponder every possibility.

Calciomercato.com point out the move is impossible if he doesn’t manage to get an Italian passport, as all the non-EU places in the squad have been taken up with the arrival of USA international Weston McKennie.

Meanwhile, Suarez himself posted on Instagram a picture of himself smiling and training for Barcelona, with the message: ‘While the FAKE NEWS comes out, I smile.’

Suarez was not the first choice for new Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo, who made it very clear from the start he’d prefer Edin Dzeko from Roma.

That is proving difficult to make happen, largely because Roma are struggling to find a replacement and are eager to keep hold of their captain.
