FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke says Luis Suarez should find treatment to make sure he doesn’t bite again.

The Uruguayan forward was found guilty of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during Tuesday’s World Cup match between the two nations.

As a result, the 27-year-old has received a four-month worldwide ban and, though Chiellini himself believes the punishment is excessive, Valcke believes any decision FIFA made would have attracted criticism.

“Suarez should look for treatment,” he said. “It’s difficult to do anything without facing some criticism but he needs to find a way of stopping.

“He needs to get better in order to avoid doing it again.”
