Stefano Sturaro is “conscious of having strong competitors” for his Juventus place, his agent admits.

The midfielder joined the Bianconeri from Genoa last January, and made 11 Serie A starts this season.

“Russian interest in him?” Carlo Volpi considered, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.

“There’s nothing, that’s all old news. He’s fully-focused on Juve. He’s conscious of having strong competitors like [Sami] Khedira, [Claudio] Marchisio, [Paul] Pogba and other who will arrive in the transfer window.

Volpi was also asked to give an assessment of his client’s season.

“It was one of consolidation. He learned about how to deal with another Juve environment, the one which emerges when the results aren’t up to expectations.

“The squad were able to rally around the experienced players and come through a difficult spell.

“He’s become more known for his quality, and the things he’s lacking are the things he’s trying to learn from his more experienced teammates.”
