RB Salzburg coach Gerhard Struber underlined how his side ‘want to change the situation’ in their coming Champions League game against Inter.

The Austrian outfit fell in a 2-1 loss to the Nerazzurri in their first meeting of the season back on October 24, a result that left them third in Group D after three matches. Their other European games saw them beat a 10-man Benfica but lose to Real Sociedad.

Inter are flying high this season under Simone Inzaghi, losing just once across Serie A and the Champions League. The team sit top of the league table and will be looking to take another step to the knockout stages in Europe.

Speaking to Sky Sports Austria via TMW, Struber first reflected on RB Salzburg’s first match with Inter and their mindset heading into the return game.

“We did well in Milan, but we were not rewarded in the end with points. We want to change the situation and bring home the victory. That is the goal.

“Of course, the anticipation outweighs the fact that we will have a really important match at home in front of many fans.”

The RB Salzburg coach then spoke about the win over WSG Tirol on the weekend.

“It wasn’t a joy to watch, but there are matches that you have to take as they are. The three points count. It was a tough fight as expected against an opponent who behaved a bit like a boxer in the corner.”
