Giovanni Stroppa admits Crotone's 2-0 defeat against Cagliari is a massive blow to their survival hopes.

The Serie A newcomers sit at the bottom of the table with 12 points in 24 games. Cagliari were only three points ahead of them before the kick-off.

"We were masters of the pitch, we could have avoided the first goal and I'm sorry because we had not conceded any chance, creating some good opportunities," Stroppa told Sky Sport Italia.

"Sometimes we were unlucky. The team put in a great performance. It's a pity because we could have reached those ahead of us in the table. Now, the survival race is more complicated.”
