Giovanni Stroppa says Crotone could double their lead in the first half against Inter and warns his side must earn important points to survive in Serie A.
The newly-promoted Serie A side took the lead against Inter in the first half, but eventually lost 6-2 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday.
“We could double our lead in the first half, we missed the final pass and I am sorry for it. Then, the game became more difficult, regardless from Inter’s qualities,” Stroppa told Sky Sport.
“We scored the equalised before the break and that’s good anyway,” he added.
“The third and fourth goal let us down. We didn’t hold on, we let Romelu Lukaku turn too easily and eventually we surrended. I don’t know if it was a mental problem or something else.”
The Sharks will face Roma on Wednesday.
“We need important points. Before games against big teams we always think about negative results, but when we go onto the pitch we prove we can play on a par. We need to do something more, trying to make the most of the goal scoring opportunities we create.”
