Kevin Strootman’s loan move to Genoa is stalling with Marseille boss André Villas-Boas who said the Ligue 1 giants are ‘waiting for documents’ to complete the deal.

The former Roma midfielder was expected to undergo his medical tests with the Grifone today, but the player hasn’t arrived in Genoa yet.

“We are waiting for some documents,” Marseille boss André Villas-Boas said at a press conference ahead of their French Cup clash against PSG.

“There is a lot of competition for him here and he wanted to get more game time and have the opportunity to play the European Championship this summer,” the Portuguese coach added.

“We listened to every offer, but if there won’t be news before tomorrow, he will be called-up for the match against PSG.”
