Roma’s Kevin Strootman is adamant that his team deserved to beat Fiorentina on Sunday evening.
The Giallorossi had a strong penalty claim turned down in their 1-0 defeat against the Viola, whose winning goal could have been ruled out for offside.
“In a game like this you need to get at least a point,” Strootman reacted following the match in Florence. “We deserved all three.
“On my part, I always want to help Roma and I think that this was our best match in the League this season.”

The Dutch midfielder did however accept that there were aspects about Roma’s performance that could have been better.
“We lost a lot of balls and in the midfield it is harder like that. We should have done better.
“We need to work, listen to Spalletti, get our confidence back and win matches.
“We played as a team and we did well in defence, but we need to improve everything.”
