Kevin Strootman's doctor says he 'can't discuss recovery times' for Roma after performing a new bout of surgery.

The player reported today through his Twitter profile that his injury saga is anything but over, as he required another operation to his knee.

While his time away from the pitch was estimated at a minimum of two months, it seems the Dutchman could be out considerably longer than that.

According to his doctor Pier Paolo Mariani, who released some statements to the Press after the surgery was performed today, no answer will be possible before that timespan.

“Strootman will play again,” he said, as reported by LaRoma24.it. “Two months from now we'll learn whether the surgery was successful.

“We cannot discuss recovery times. The lad had an extremely tough month, but today he was chilled.

“Up to two-three days ago he looked like he'd been run over by a train, but this morning he was smiling and peaceful.”
