Full-back Ivan Strinic insists joining Napoli was “the best move for my career”, despite a lack of playing time.

“I remain convinced that my transfer to Napoli was the best move for my career,” Strinic told Slobodnadalmacija of his move from Dnipro.

“I remain convinced that my transfer to Napoli was the best move for my career,” Strinic told Slobodnadalmacija of his move from Dnipro.

“Also because in Ukraine there’s a long war and I was only thinking about football. In Naples I have a quiet life, and it’s better for me and my family.

“A move to Sampdoria? Just speculation. Napoli need two teams available, and my job is to increase the quality.

“When I arrived I was injured, but [then-Coach Rafa] Benitez reassured me, and I must say that’s happened with the new Coach [Maurizio Sarri] too.

“Sarri makes me feel important in training. Now we have a series of important games in now many days.

“I should play, most likely in the Europa League against Villarreal. We have a strong team, the best player being [Gonzalo] Higuain, a goal machine.”
