Ivan Strinic confirmed he will “be a Napoli player on Monday. It’s a great challenge for me and I can’t wait to start.”

The Croatia international left-back is a free agent, as his contract with Dnipro expires on January 1.

“Practically the only thing missing is the medical, but it’s all done with Napoli,” Strinic told Slobodna Dalmacja.

“Practically the only thing missing is the medical, but it’s all done with Napoli,” Strinic told Slobodna Dalmacja.

“If things go the way they should, I will be a Napoli player on Monday. It’s a great challenge for me and I chose their proposal because it was more concrete than the others.

“Another two Italian clubs wanted me,” he added, most likely referring to Inter and Juventus.

“Napoli believe in me and saw me as the best solution for their team. I want to prove they were right to trust in me and I can’t wait to get started. I am so happy to be trained by someone like Benitez.

“I was injured for two months, but now I have recovered and this break will help me reach peak form.”
