Andrea Stamaccioni has commented on his Udinese squad, having worked with the Zebrette players for two weeks now.

The former Inter boss was named as Francesco Guidolin’s successor last month, and went to work with the squad earlier in July for the start of pre-season.

And after assessing their merits, the tactician has been complimentary on those at his disposal.

“One of our strengths is certainly our three at the back,” he told a Press conference.

“They have real pace and have certainly shown their worth over these last few weeks.

“I need to, perhaps, put more of my attention on the midfield. I think it’s important that, going into the new season, we have players that can complement each other.”

Strama then singled out Luis Muriel and Simone Scuffet.

“I have been clear with Luis. He knows that I respect him, but he also has to show his worth on the pitch.

“Scuffet? I have to protect him. It’s clear that he is destined for big things.”
