Inter and Roma will provide the biggest challenge to Juventus in the 2015-16 Serie A season, according to Andrea Stramaccioni.

The former Nerazzurri and Udinese Coach spoke to Corriere dello Sport about the season ahead, saying the Old Lady’s lead over the chasing pack has been narrowed.

“The distance has been reduced between Juve and the others, but the Bianconeri are always forward-thinking,” he said.

“As has happened in the past, they realised it was time to renew the team.

“They got the two best young strikers in Serie A, Zaza and Dybala, and along with them an expert striker in Mandzukic.

“It’s difficult to replace someone like Tevez, because he knows how to lead the team when they’re in trouble. I don’t know if the new arrivals will do the same.

“Roma came close to Juventus thanks to the perfect operations of Sabatini, although the departures of Bertolacci and Romagnoli are very painful.

“With Dzeko and Salah they have an extraordinary attack, although perhaps they’re still missing a central defender and they must clarify the role of right-back – if Maicon is not in, I'm sure Florenzi is able to do well as a full-back.

“So far he played there as an emergency, but he would even play in goals for Roma.

“Inter? They’ve signed exceptional players like Jovetic and Kondongbia and also they have the advantage of not competing in Europe.

“One step below them are Milan, Napoli and Lazio, then I’d put Fiorentina as outsiders.

“We talk a lot about Sarri and the football he’s trying to bring to Napoli.

“I hope he manages it, although he will encounter two difficulties – first the players have to have confidence in him, and the other problem is that Napoli are playing in Europe and Sarri will no longer have five days for his intense training sessions.”
