Thomas Strakosha broke into tears during Lazio‘s pre-match warmup as the Biancocelesti fans unveiled a banner to support the goalkeeper after his howler against Galatasaray.

On Thursday, the Albania international literally put the ball in his net in the Biancocelesti’s opening Europa League clash against the Turkish side.

The own goal cost Lazio the game as the Serie A side suffered a 1-0 defeat in Turkey.

However, Lazio fans seem to have already forgiven the 26-year-old as they unveiled a banner to support him during the pre-match warmup of their match against Cagliari.

They quoted Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, writing: “Don’t care about them, just look and go on.”

Strakosha saw the banner unveiled by the Curva Nord ultras and broke into tears, hiding his face behind a towel.

Pepe Reina starts for in goal for Lazio this evening, but Strakosha is one of the Biancocelesti’s veterans, having joined the club’s youth sector in 2012.

The 26-year-old has 178 appearances with the Biancocelesti.
