Sporting director Frederic Massara and technical director Paolo Maldini have not lost hope of closing the long talks with the Italy international.
But Calciomercato.com claims they have, in the meantime, already reached an agreement with Lille over Maignan.
The Rossoneri have offered €8m including bonuses to Donnarumma but agent Mino Raiola has not accepted the proposed deal yet.
The Milan directors have thus moved quickly for Maignan, and the report claims the 25-year-old would like a move to San Siro.
The French goalkeeper will reportedly discuss terms with Maldini and the good relationship between the two clubs allows the Rossoneri to enter talks with the player whilst waiting for a definitive signal from Donnarumma.
