A fourth auction has passed with no bids for bankrupt Parma, the club has confirmed.
The Ducali were declared bankrupt in March, with total liabilities topping €200m, and a sporting debt of almost €75m.
If the club can pay off that sporting debt by June 28, they will be allowed to compete in Serie B next season, following their relegation.
The Crociati players have attempted to help with his endeavour, by giving up 75 per cent of the wages owed to them, but so far no bidders have come forward, and the Emilian side will be forced to start again from the amateur leagues without a buyer.
“The administators for Parma, Dr [Angelo] Anedda and Dr [Alberto] Guiotto announce that as of 12.00 today, May 22 2015, no binding offer has been submitted to the notary Giulio Almansi,” a statement on Parma’s official website announced.
“The new deadline for submission of offers is set for May 28.
“As specified, the starting price for the fifth and final auction will be lowered by 25 per cent compared to the €8,437,500 price for the fourth auction.”
That means the final price to buy the stricken club will be set at €6,328,125, thought that figure could of course rise if there is more than one bidder.
