Christian Stellini says Antonio Conte will choose a project that ‘motivates him’ but insists the ex-Juventus and Inter suits ‘any team.’
Stellini is a former assistant of Conte at Inter and Tottenham. He replaced the 54-year-old in North London last year after Conte left the club by mutual agreement but remained in charge as an interim coach for just four games.
Now that Conte is without a club, he’s been tipped to return to Serie A with several clubs interested, including Napoli and Milan.
Speaking to Cusano Italia TV, Stellini confirmed Conte’s plans to return in 2024-25.
“It depends on the project he will be offered. This is what he’s been waiting for,” the 49-year-old said as quoted by Sportitalia.
“He wants to find a project that motivates him, then he’ll choose. We are talking about a high-level coach who suits any team.”
However, whether Stellini will follow Conte at a new club next season is still unclear.
“These decisions entirely depend on the coach,” he said. “So, I can say no more. I can only say there is a great desire to return. His secret is tied to his image. He gives 110% to the clubs he works for, so the environment is dragged by his ability to make hard work count.”
Conte has won the Serie A title with Inter and Juventus as a coach. Three times in Turin and once in Milan. He also won the Premier League title at Chelsea in 2016-17 and an FA Cup in 2017-18.
