Dejan Stankovic trusts the new Inter players can settle in quickly, “now it’s up to Roberto Mancini.”

The squad was almost completely revamped over the summer with many comings and goings, including transfer deadline day arrivals Adem Ljajic, Felipe Melo and Alex Telles.

The ex-Galatasaray duo were thrown straight into the starting XI for today’s friendly against Lecco.

“I am happy to have seen so many people here to see the game,” team manager Stankovic told Inter Channel.

The ex-Galatasaray duo were thrown straight into the starting XI for today’s friendly against Lecco.

“I am happy to have seen so many people here to see the game,” team manager Stankovic told Inter Channel.

“We expect a great season. We know Melo already, as we’ve battled on the field. He has great character.

“Telles has splendid attacking characteristics. The break for international duty is positive, as we’ve had a fantastic transfer strategy and Mancini will have five or six days to prepare for the derby.

“Now it’s up to Mancio to put the best Inter side on the field, but I know he’ll get the best out of his players and from himself.”

Stankovic is certainly no stranger to former Roma striker Ljajic, a Serbian international.

“He knows Serie A very well and I did talk to him before he made the move to Inter. We played together for Serbia and when he steps on to the field, you can see all his talent.”

Inter v Lecco: Carrizo; D'Ambrosio, Santon, Juan Jesus; Montoya, Guarin, Melo, Gnoukouri, Telles; Baldini, Palacio.
