Dejan Stankovic has declared that Inter are 'ready to fight' for victory at Catania on Saturday as they look to turn their season around.

The recently-retired Serbian international told Inter's official television channel of his take on the current dressing room mentality.

"We have a tough schedule from now until the end of the month. We have to start again now after the internationals, but we'll do it calmly and with determination.

"We got off to a great start with [Claudio] Ranieri as Coach, but then there was that strange match against Napoli. However almost two weeks have passed and we have left that well behind us."

The trip to Sicily is one of three of the team's next four games to be played away from San Siro in all competitions. Stankovic is under no illusion as to the effort required, nor lacking in belief that his teammates can respond positively.

"In Catania we'll have a difficult, hard-fought game. Theirs is a difficult stadium to come away from with a result: but we only want to come away with one result: victory and we're prepared to fight for it.

"We are getting there gradually. Players are recovering from injuries even though we have two more now. In any case some of us are back again and that will help us keep the quality of the play high, thanks to the changes, too."
