The Stadio della Roma project could be running into more trouble, as the new councillor is “a Lazio fan, so I couldn’t care less.”
The project has been drowning in problems for several years now and just as it was all set to go ahead, the corruption investigation into the local council took out another figure, Marcello De Vito.
His replacement is Carlo Maria Chiossi, also of the M5S political party, but his comments to La Repubblica do not bode well.

“I have my own ideas on the Stadio della Roma and know what I read in the papers, but before saying what I think, I prefer to look through the official file first.”
The political debate rages on as to whether the new arena is ‘in the public interest’ for the city to invest in.
