After Emiliano Viviano admits he “didn’t want to leave Sampdoria” last summer, it’s reported Sporting CP have put him on the market.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper made the move for €2m in July, but since then the Portuguese club has been through three Coaches – including a couple of weeks in pre-season under Sinisa Mihajlovic.

According to O Jogo, Sporting have put six players up for sale in the January transfer window, including Viviano, who is yet to make a single competitive appearance for the club.

“I miss many things about Italy and Genoa, where I spent four wonderful years with the Sampdoria jersey,” Viviano told Tuttosport.

“I am disappointed by leaving Samp, but everyone knows I didn’t want to leave the club.

“I remain on good terms with President Massimo Ferrero and the directors, and we are still in contact, but one must accept the decisions that have been made.”
