Spanish newspaper Sport claims that Inter are in advanced talks with Barcelona to loan Alexis Sanchez, with Luuk de Jong going the other way, pending Sevilla permission.

It is not new that Alexis Sanchez could leave San Siro in January, although he has impressed recently with some good performances and goals.

His injury record is a concern, though, and his salary is another issue that the club is eager to shake off.

According to Sport, Inter are in ‘advanced talks’ to loan Alexis Sanchez to Barcelona in the January transfer window.

In exchange, the Nerazzurri would get De Jong for six months, as the 31-year-old Dutch striker is currently on loan from Sevilla.

He has made just 11 appearances for Barcelona in all competition this season, contributing one goal.

The report assures Sevilla are not against the idea of De Jong going to Inter.

This would be a nostalgic return to Camp Nou for Chile international Sanchez, who left Udinese for the Blaugrana in 2011 and he remained until 2014.

His contract with Inter runs to June 2023 and it remains to be seen if an option to buy would be included in the deal.

He made 14 appearances for the Nerazzurri this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

  1. Don’t think we want or need any of the De Jong’s.
Our midfield is rock solid and up front we got Dzeko in that role; we don’t need replacement or stand-in for this season. Just the two current Dutchies will suffice.

  2. Agree with the others 100%. Hope this is not happening. Asides from constant injuries Alexis plays really well with the current setup.

  3. @Donato: it`s not what the player thinks, he is obviously a reserve. It`s about club`s interests.

Inter want to sign Scamacca – already confirmed by the media. Problem is, club`s initial bid was rejected and Sassuolo publicly stated that they are not letting Scamacca and Raspadori go in January. Which makes sense to be honest, I would do the same in their shoes. They have sold Caputo and they want to keep playing them so their value can further increase – as close as possible to that 40M they are asking.

Hence the links to Caicedo and more recently, Luuk de Jong. Still better than hoping Icardi will save your season.
