Leonardo Spinazzola has returned to Rome and met the Giallorossi coach José Mourinho at Trigoria.
The 28-year-old underwent knee surgery on Monday after sustaining an Achilles tendon injury during Italy’s UEFA Euro 2020 quarter-finals against Belgium.
He had been one of the Azzurri’s most brilliant players in the competition and was named MVP in two of their five games at the Euros.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Spinazzola has already returned to Rome, where he met the new Giallorossi coach José Mourinho.
Roma’s pre-season begun today and the Special One spoke to the player who will remain out of action for around six months.
Spinazzola also met Gianluca Mancini, who was at Trigoria for the pre-season medical tests.
The centre-back had been included in Italy’s preliminary EURO 2020 squad by Roberto Mancini, but was excluded from the final 26-man squad list.
