Roma full-back Leonardo Spinazzola has revealed he’s ‘halfway through the recovery process’ and hopes to be back in ’75 days’.

The Italy international impressed big time at the Euros and was one of the protagonists for the Azzurri.

Italy went all the way, beating England in the Final at Wembley, but the competition ended prematurely for Spinazzola.

The 28-year-old suffered an injury in the quarter-finals against Belgium, when he ruptured his Achilles tendon, and is currently working hard to return.

“I’m fine,” Spinazzola told La Gazzetta dello Sport during the ‘Tutti a scuola’ event. “I threw away the crutches.

“It’s going well, also because I work a lot. I’m halfway through the recovery process. It will approximately be another two or three months.

“There are 75 days for the return to the pitch, if all goes well.”

  1. He was the best player at Euro 2020 until his injury. His interplay with Insigne on the left hand side of the pitch allowed Italy to dominate games – that combination was unstoppable. I look forward to his return to the Azzurri for next year’s World Cup in Qatar, where he will allow us to challenge for our 5th World Cup.
