Bologna announce that Andreas Skov Olsen has undergone surgery after fracturing a vertebra during international duty for Denmark.
The 20-year-old midfielder sustained the injury during a Nations League match against Iceland on October 11.
A more conservative treatment did not have the desired results.
It was therefore decided to go under the knife at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna.
Skov Olsen had vertebroplasty, so cement was injected into the fractured vertebra to relieve pressure on the spinal cord.
