Spezia are reportedly interested in bringing Francesco Farioli back to Serie A to replace Vincenzo Italiano.

The 32-year-old was appointed head coach of Fatih Karagümrük in March 2021 and his contract expires in June 2023.

But Roberto De Zerbi’s former assistant at Benevento and Sassuolo could return to Italy after only one year in Turkey.

Farioli moved to Alanyaspor as an assistant coach in August 2020 but was quickly recognised and given an opportunity to become the head coach at the Atatürk Olpiyat Stadium.

Fiorentina are reportedly negotiating with Spezia coach Italiano, and the club has started looking for a potential replacement.

Italiano helped get the Aquilotti promoted in 2019-20 and then to safety in 2020-21 but seems set to take over the position left behind by Gennaro Gattuso at the Artemio Franchi.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Spezia are looking at the possibilities of bringing Farioli back to Serie A.

The young coach is currently obtaining the UEFA A licence, which would allow him to become a head coach in the Italian top flight.
