Spezia have been given the all-clear to play their first home game of the season at the Stadio Picco against Udinese.

The Aquile had organised the Serie A fixture list to begin with two away matches at Cagliari and Lazio, because their home arena was still undergoing restructuring work over the summer.

Following an inspection from the local authorities today, the Stadio Picco has been given the green light to open.

That means Spezia will be able to host Udinese at their own stadium on Sunday September 12.

The news was confirmed by the Mayor of Spezia, Pierluigi Peracchini.
