Jakub Kiwior says he is ‘happy at Spezia‘ despite West Ham’s interest and was not surprised to see his compatriot Arek Milik join Juventus.
Spezia visit Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday when Kiwior will reunite with his compatriots Milik and Wojciech Szczesny.
The ex-Napoli forward had signed with the Bianconeri last week and made his Juventus debut coming off the bench against Roma on Saturday. Did Milik’s return to Serie A surprised Kiwior?
“No, he is a prolific striker who has scored a lot of goals. It’s nice to have so many Polish players in Serie A,” the 22-year-old told Tuttosport newspaper.
“I know Arek personally, but we’ll finally meet in Turin. I hope I can swap shirts with Milik or Szczesny.”
Kiwior joined Spezia from MSK Zilina a year ago and has already become a regular starter at the Stadio Picco, where he has collected 27 appearances across all competitions, including four this season.
He has been linked with West Ham and Roma, but the Poland defender is expected to stay in Liguria at least until the end of the season.
“I’ve never had doubts, I am happy here and I stayed with the target of keeping my [starting] spot,” he said when asked about a potential move to West Ham.
“I don’t think about transfer rumours, I am focused on Spezia and the game against Juventus.”
Spezia have collected four points in the opening three Serie A games of the season.
