Djed Spence started carrying out his medicals with Genoa this morning as he prepares to complete a loan move from Tottenham.

The 23-year-old English right back arrived in the Ligurian capital on Wednesday evening after the two clubs reached a total agreement regarding the sale of Radu Dragusin. He spent the first half of this season on loan with Leeds United in the Championship.

Spence is ready to join Genoa on a six-month loan deal with a circa €10m buy option attached. He is keen for regular playing time as he looks to continue his development, having struggled for consistent minutes since joining Tottenham 18 months ago.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Spence arrived at the Casa della Salute clinic in Genoa this morning to start carrying out his pre-transfer medicals with the club. Should everything go to plan, he’ll sign his contract at the club’s headquarters later today.

Genoa have looked positive under coach Alberto Gilardino this term, sitting 12th in the league table at the halfway point of the season.
