Genoa are already considering making Djed Spence’s move permanent at the end of the season as the Tottenham loanee has had a promising start at the Stadio Ferraris.

Spence joined the Rossoblu on loan with an option to buy for €10m from Tottenham in January as part of the Radu Dragusin deal.

As revealed by Genoa director Andrés Blazquez, Spece was already on the club’s radars in the summer of 2023 when, however, he was unaffordable for the Rossoblu. Blazquez also said Spece can be “an important signing for the future” at Marassi.

Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals the Rossoblu are already considering making the defender’s move permanent in the summer as Spence put in convincing performances in his first three Serie A appearances.

The versatile English full-back started three games from three, playing as a left wing-back against Salernitana and Lecce and as a right wing-back against Empoli this past weekend.

Spece was the fastest player on the pitch on his Serie A debut against Salernitana, reaching a top speed of 33 km/h.

According to the report, the Englishman has moved to Italy with his mother Aisha and is already studying Italian, helped by some teammates who speak ‘perfect English’ like Koni De Winter, Albert Gudmundsson and Kevin Strootman.
