Lecce defender Federico Baschirotto used to volunteer as an activity leader and one of the kids he oversaw was Udinese‘s Destiny Udogie. Tonight they will reunite in a Serie A match at the Dacia Arena.

There will be a special reunion in Udine tonight when Baschirotto and Udogie will take the field in Udinese-Lecce, the opening match of Round 13 in Serie A.

As reported by La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the two defenders have known each other for a long time as Baschirotto was an activity leader in the city of Nogara, 30km from Verona, and Udogie was one of the kids of his group.

According to the report, Udogie used to give him hard times: once he climbed up a tree and Baschirotto had to get him down.

Udogie then entered Verona’s youth sector, while Baschirotto, now 26, began his professional career as a footballer. They remained in touch through social media and already met once last season, in Udinese’s 3-1 win over Ascoli in Coppa Italia.

Baschirotto joined Lecce last summer, while Udogie signed for Tottenham, but has remained on loan at Udinese until the end of the season.
