The Spartak Moscow social media channel continued to mock Napoli and coach Luciano Spalletti, using a meme based on the capture of Saddam Hussein.

The bitterness between the clubs goes back to the first match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, which was won 3-2 by the Russians.

They posted some jokey Twitter messages, but things escalated after this evening’s 2-1 win in Moscow.

After Spalletti refused to shake the hand of coach Rui Vitoria, the Spartak account called him a clown.

They then used a clip of Spalletti’s furious reaction to the home defeat, with him promising they’d see what happened in Moscow.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, we got ‘em.”

This clip is a meme from Paul Bremer announcing the American forces capturing Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in December 2003.
