Serie A has sold its 2018-21 television rights to Spanish broadcaster Mediapro for €1,050,001,000.

The auction was postponed to February after Sky and Mediaset failed to meet Serie A’s demands of €1.05bn last summer.

That allowed Mediapro to enter the race and clinch the rights for €1,000 more than the minimum asking price.

The Barcelona-based enterprise will now proceed to talks with Italy’s Competition Authority to finalise the deal.
