Luciano Spalletti is ‘very sorry’ to lose Walter Sabatini as Inter sporting director, but says his side must continue as normal.

Sabatini has made the decision to leave the San Siro, but the former Roma could would not be drawn on the reasons why.

“I am very sorry because I know the value of Sabatini as a director,” Spalletti told Premium Sport. “He is one of the strongest in his profession.

“He will have his reasons for leaving, which you will have to ask him for.

“But we cannot let ourselves be affected by the decision. Whoever is within Inter needs to believe in Inter and look to get important results.”

Spalletti reaffirmed his own commitment to Inter, where he is nearing the end of his first season in charge.

“I already was [committed], when I signed the contract. I like Inter even more, I have gotten right into it.

“Until they say otherwise, I will work.”
