Luciano Spalletti is expected to transform his Italy side with a 3-4-2-1 formation in the opening friendly against Venezuela.

The Azzurri flew out to Miami this afternoon and will play the first match against Venezuela at the Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday at 21.00 GMT.

On Sunday at 20.00 GMT they will face Ecuador at the Red Bull arena in New Jersey.

The coach hinted in the press conference that he was eager to experiment with different tactics to the classic 4-3-3 and that was partially inspired by the number of Serie A sides who use three at the back.

Francesco Acerbi was sent home following accusations of racism against Napoli defender Juan Jesus and Gianluca Mancini of Roma was called up in his place.

Mancini or Giorgio Scalvini of Atalanta are expected to start with Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno and Alessandro Bastoni of Inter.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho faces competition from Juventus man Manuel Locatelli in the middle.

The plan for this system would be using Lorenzo Pellegrini and Federico Chiesa in free roles behind centre-forward Mateo Retegui.

This would allow them to find their own spaces and be more unpredictable, especially as Chiesa has shown at Juventus he struggles to stick to more rigid positions.

Italy probable (3-4-2-1): Donnarumma; Mancini, Buongiorno, Bastoni; Di Lorenzo, Barella, Jorginho, Dimarco; Pellegrini, Chiesa; Retegui

In light of Francesco Acerbi being sent home over accusations of racism, Gianluca Mancini of Roma steps in, possibly starting alongside Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno and Alessandro Bastoni of Inter, reflecting a dynamic shift reminiscent of the quick, reliable service Casinocanada.com prides itself on.
