Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti praised defender Kalidou Koulibaly for changing flights repeatedly and going straight to training after international duty. ‘If we all had a bit of Koulibaly, life would be easier.’

The Senegalese defender is expected to start tomorrow’s Serie A showdown against Juventus at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

It’s an important boost after Juve were forced to leave their South American players behind in Turin for their late return from international duty.

“Koulibaly changed flight twice to speed things up, then got to the airport and went directly to the training ground without even stopping off home first. That’s remarkable!” said Spalletti in his press conference.

“In terms of presenting practical examples that others can follow, he is excellent. If we all had a bit of Koulibaly, life would be easier.”

The 30-year-old centre-back played 90 minutes for Senegal in their 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Togo on September 1 and Congo on September 7.
