Spalletti: ‘Florenzi out for Roma’

Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti admits Alessandro Florenzi will not be fit to face Frosinone tomorrow.

The Italian international was substituted in the last minute of last weekend’s defeat to Juventus, and will be forced to sit out tomorrow’s match.

“Florenzi is unlikely to be available for the game,” Spalletti acknowledged in his pre-match Press conference.

“He took a whack at the end of the game, and that was the reason for my reprimand after his little protest [at being substituted] which I didn’t want to do.

“He’s a great player, and great players must behave in a certain way. I had to gauge the extent of the hit he’d taken.

“There was major pain, but no fracture, but he’s a loss for us. He won’t be there for the game.”

The Giallorossi signed Stephan El Shaarawy on loan this week, but the 23-year-old is unlikely to start tomorrow.

“We’ll have to figure out if he can make a contribution during the game, or if it’s better to have a look at him in a few more training sessions.

“He’s coming off a period where he hasn’t been playing [at Monaco], so it’s more likely he’ll come on during the game.

“He has important attributes, he has good technique and knows where the goal is. We’ll find his role.

“He can be a third striker, but at the same time he knows how to play every role across the front-line."
