There was reportedly a nasty row between coaches Luciano Spalletti and Max Allegri in the press room after Napoli’s comeback victory over Juventus.

Kalidou Koulibaly and Matteo Politano were on target after the Alvaro Morata opener at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, sealing a 2-1 result for the hosts.

Following the match, Sky Sport Italia report that the two tacticians ‘clashed’ in the press room, with tension sky high.

According to the reporters who were present, Spalletti was irritated with Allegri saying that Juventus errors had effectively scored the goals for Napoli, which he maintained was not giving sufficient credit to the Partenopei.

Spalletti commented himself in the press conference on what had happened.

“I went to salute him after the game and he just carried on walking and ignored me,” was the version that Spalletti gave.

“I have always lost against Juve, for once I win and you’re lecturing me, for crying out loud?”

The two coaches are both from Tuscany and do not hold back when expressing themselves in colloquial terminology so that is rather a family-friendly translation of the discussion.

  1. @putuco. Not many clowns win 5 Scudetti, 4 Coppa Italia’s and make 2 UCL finals. Truth is that Napoli struggled to break down what was essentially a reserve Juventus team and both goals were Juve errors – these are the facts that Allegri points out quite correctly. Did Napoli deserve to win the game, yes they did on the balance of play, but let’s put some perspective on this defeat. As for Allegri not ackowledging Spalletti after the game, that’s not good.

  2. All 3 goals were rubbish. Draw would have been a fair result.
I saw the coaches later hugging, should be enough after the game. Salute not needed.
Now, let’s see. Only 3 games played so far. If Juve continues this though next week, goodnight.

  3. Allegri must know which player is good on the beach and which is not, for example the goalkeeper’s errors and constant frustration towards the three games we played make the team boring and unreliable

  4. @Frankie

yeah 5 scudetti won with the rest of the team still clueless. Now everyone is on par. 2 UCL finals are just finals, that’s all.

This is Juventus fan speaking. Allegri is a clown.
