Spalletti suggested in yesterday’s press conference that the investments made by Juventus mean they have to target the Scudetto or the Champions League this season. So Allegri was asked if he wants to reply to the Napoli coach?
“No, besides it is good to joke and take the drama and external tension out, as it is a game of football, a wonderful atmosphere and we hope it will be an entertaining evening for everyone,” Allegri told DAZN.
So we can expect a normal handshake before kick-off on the touchline?
“Luciano and I are not exactly friends, but we are acquaintances and I have great respect for him.”
When DAZN spoke to Napoli coach Spalletti, the response was considerably shorter and left the situation rather open-ended.
“I know him pretty well, so I have absolutely nothing to discover. I have absolutely no problem with Allegri. None at all. If anything, he might seem to have a problem with me,” shrugged Spalletti.
The pair of tacticians are both from Tuscany and therefore share a rather cutting sense of humour and tendency not to hold back in their press conferences.
