Uruguay thrashed Tahiti 8-0 with Palermo striker Hernandez bagging four goals on the night.

It was an unexpectedly fiery encounter with Luis Suarez getting two, then Diego Perez of Bologna and Nicolas Lodeiro were also on target.

Both sides went down to 10 men, as Andres Scotti had a penalty saved and then received a second yellow card, while Teheivarii Ludivion saw red for Tahiti.

Uruguay go through to the semi-final against Brazil on Wednesday in Belo Horizonte.
