After having confirmed two positive cases of coronavirus in the squad, Napoli never turned up for the match against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, scheduled for October 4.

The Partenopei had played Genoa, who was hit by an outbreak of the virus in their matchday group, and the local health authority in Campania consequently stopped Napoli from travelling to Turin.

But the Old Lady asked for a win by default as they turned up to play nobody. The sporting judge has taken his time and the Partenopei might have broken the protocol and could get punished even if the match is postponed to a later date.

“I expect a wise decision,” Minister of Sport said, according Corriere della Sera. “Will this decision affect the rules? There’s no doubt, in fact, I’m waiting too…”

The leaders of the Lega Serie A invoke the regulation, stressing that it was shared by all.

If the sporting judge decides to postpone the game, the newspaper calims other teams will demand similar treatment, as Inter are preparing to play Milan with six positive cases of coronavirus in their squad.
