New Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa will reportedly attempt to convince Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah to extend his Viola loan today.

Salah joined Fiorentina on loan in January on a two-year loan deal but has the option to reject a return to Florence in favour of staying at parent club Chelsea.

Viola sporting director Daniele Prade spoke yesterday of his desire to keep the Egyptian winger at the Artemio Franchi and suggested he will speak to Sousa, who was unveiled as new Coach yesterday.

Il Corriere Fiorentino has reported today that in order to convince the 23-year-old to stay, the Viola will offer him an increased salary from €2.5m a season to €3m plus bonuses.

The paper also reports that Sousa will attempt to make contact with the player today in order to try and explain the importance of the Fiorentina project to him.

La Viola face stiff competition for Salah, with the likes of Inter, Milan, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg all being linked with the player recently.
